Gavin is a native of the South of Scotland and has extensive experience across the UK in both the Public and Private sector. He is a graduate of Edinburgh University and a qualified accountant.
His previous roles include management in the Retail and Banking sectors as well as senior positions in the Civil Service, NHS, and for both English and Scottish public sector Scrutiny Bodies. He is a former Director of Audit Scotland and was latterly the Chief Executive of Dumfries and Galloway Council for 13 years.
