Carolyn joined SLAB in 2023, bringing extensive knowledge of Scotland’s justice system and the wider public sector. She has held a range of legal, policy and business management roles, including broad experience as a criminal court solicitor. Her most recent role was Audit Director in the Performance Audit and Best Value division of Audit Scotland.
Her responsibilities as Director of Client Legal Services are to oversee the operational and strategic development of the Civil Legal Assistance Office (CLAO), the Public Defence Solicitors’ Office (PDSO), and Solicitor Contact Line (SCL) for a consistent approach to these services to ensure clients’ needs are met.
