The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 46 of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:

  1. This order may be cited as the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986 (Commencement No.1) Order 1986.
  2. The provisions of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986 which are referred to in column 1 of the Schedule to this order (which relate to the matters described in column 2 of that Schedule) shall come into force on 1 October 1986.
