Deadline for responses to legal aid accounts assessment consultation extended to 10 December

The deadline for responses to our accounts assessment consultation has been extended until 5pm on 10 December 2021.

We have been asked for an extension to allow some stakeholders to give the consultation full consideration.

The consultation is about how we assess accounts submitted by solicitors and advocates.

Seeking views from interested parties is the start of a process that will see us more clearly stating our policies and guidance for those preparing accounts and those assessing those accounts.

This process has also seen us reviewing our approach to assessment and, where we think change is necessary and possible within the current statutory framework, we are consulting on our proposals.
