Special urgency and extension or amendments to existing legal aid

If your client requires an amendment to their existing grant of legal aid and you need to do work as a matter of urgency you do not have to complete an online declaration with them.  In these cases, we will have already carried out a means assessment before granting civil legal aid.

If the work to be done is covered under regulation 18(1)(a) and(2) of the Civil Legal Aid (Scotland) Regulations 2002 and you have already sent a notification in the application you do not need to send a further notification.
