Outlays payable for experts located at a distance from the tribunal: information you should provide

On occasion, we are asked to grant an increase in authorised expenditure to employ a medical or other expert witness located at some distance from the tribunal, elsewhere in the UK or abroad.

Such a request is competent but you must satisfy us that you have considered the likely costs of this and looked into the availability of such an expert closer to the tribunal. We would expect you to use an equally qualified expert closer to the tribunal, if available and appropriate to do so.
