Your client may not be able to answer all of these questions at the first meeting. They may have documentation that will help you confirm the position. If that is the case, they should be asked to send in the appropriate documents to you. Advice and assistance cannot be granted until you are satisfied they are eligible.
The time spent in getting the information required is not chargeable under advice and assistance. Advice and assistance only begins when you grant it.
