Projects currently funded

We are responsible for the administration of a range of projects across Scotland under the Early Resolution and Advice Programme, and standalone projects, to help people with certain civil problems.

We do not currently have any open funding opportunities for agencies.

We currently manage one nationwide and 18 regional grant funded projects, available to view in the below dropdown menu. Project funding is time limited.

Housing, Debt & Money Advice Service

Run by Argyll and Bute Citizens Advice Bureau.

Clients can receive money advice and representation on all matters relating to mortgage and tenancy repossession and related debt issues, with the aim of keeping the client out of the court wherever possible.

In-Court Advice Service in Dumfries and Galloway

Run by Dumfries and Galloway Citizens Advice Service.

Advice and representation are provided to those within Dumfries and Galloway facing eviction or repossession because of arrears. Assistance is provided at Dumfries and Stranraer Sheriff Courts.

Housing Law and Debt Advice Project

Run by Shelter Scotland.

The project aims to help people stave off evictions and repossessions in Tayside and the Borders. Representation is provided to clients facing heritable court eviction and mortgage repossession actions and also ensures that people who are homeless and have not been able to obtain appropriate alternative accommodation can access local advice, assistance and representation.

Kilmarnock In-Court Advice Project

Run by East Ayrshire Council.

An in-court adviser based at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court provides advice and assistance to those facing eviction as a result of arrears.

East Lothian Access to Justice Project

run by Haddington Citizens Advice Bureau

This In Court Advice project provides advice and casework for eviction, repossession and debt problems for people living in East Lothian. Representation for clients is provided at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Edinburgh Mediation Project

Run by Citizens Advice Edinburgh.

This project provides a free mediation service to small claims and occasional summary cause litigants in Edinburgh sheriff court, taking referrals from sheriffs and self-referrals from litigants. Parties wishing to resolve their dispute by mediation can be offered ‘same-day’ mediation or return to the court at a later date for a mediation appointment.

Edinburgh Women’s Aid Legal Services project

Run by Scottish Women’s Aid in partnership with Edinburgh Women’s Aid and Baker Gostelow Family Law Ltd.

The project provides an early intervention service providing legal advice, intervention services to women and children impacted by domestic abuse. Legal services focus on a wide range of child and family law matters including separation, divorce, parental responsibilities and rights, child residence and contact and on complex financial and property issues arising from separation.

EHAP Court Representation & Money Advice Service

Run by Community Help & Advice Initiative, Granton Information Centre and FourSquare.

The EHAP Court Representation & Money Advice Service can help people with representation at court for mortgage repossession cases in Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Fife Advice Partnership

Run by Frontline Fife.

The Fife Advice Partnership helps people with housing and debt cases calling at Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline and Dundee Sheriff Courts. An adviser is available at each court during eviction and repossession hearings.

Housing Debt and Money Advice Project

Run by Castlemilk Law and Money Advice Centre.

The project solicitor covers south east Glasgow and provides a service from existing law centre offices in Castlemilk, Crosshill and the Gorbals, and outreach in CAB offices, and helps clients at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

North Highland Housing and Homelessness Project

Run by Ross & Cromarty Citizens Advice Bureau, East Sutherland Citizens Advice Bureau and Caithness Citizens Advice Bureau.

A homelessness and housing officer provides support for people in Tain and Wick, and Sheriff Courts assistance to North Highland residents at Inverness Sheriff court. The project provides associated debt advice and income maximisation services for clients.

House Keeping

Run by Moray Citizens Advice Bureau and Nairn Citizens Advice Bureau.

Moray CABs In Court Advice Project assists those with the complex housing issues and who have multiple debts.
