Email to criminal solicitors to confirm registered details

Thursday, Nov 17, 2016

An email was sent today to all solicitors currently listed on the Criminal Legal Assistance Register asking them to confirm that the details we currently hold for them are correct.

SLAB has a statutory duty to send a copy of the register to the Law Society of Scotland in December so we would appreciate solicitors checking their inbox and replying by Wednesday 30 November.

In previous years we contacted Compliance Partners by post to make these checks. We are now emailing solicitors directly to simplify the process and ensure the information on the register is accurate.

If you have not received an email or would like any further information please email criminalregister@slab.org.uk.

Please note that the Code of Practice in relation to Criminal Legal Assistance explains that it is the responsibility of solicitors to keep us informed of any changes to their details. You can also use the criminalregister@slab.org.uk email address to do this throughout the year.
